STARS

Shaping Talents and Achieving Vocational Excellence in Sports

ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PEX-COVE · 101143990 · Centre of Vocational Excellence

The challenge

The sport sector lacks vocational training aligned with the competences it actually needs, recognition of learning acquired outside formal education, and viable dual-career pathways for athletes.

The digital component

The first Erasmus+ Centre of Vocational Excellence in sport: a European framework that connects sport professionals, industry and vocational education providers, with digital tools for training, recognition and career guidance.

Project scope

Vocational excellence, qualification and dual career are the aims of the centre. The learning pathways and credentials below describe the scope being built by the consortium, not tools already delivered by Sport Innovation Hub.

Sport Innovation Hub's role

Partner in the consortium, contributing sport technology expertise.

Show technical detail
  • Competence frameworks modelled as structured data, so that courses, assessments and job profiles map to the same reference
  • Learning pathways with assessment and verifiable credentials
  • Recognition of prior and informal learning as a first-class process, not an exception
  • Dual-career support: pathways that combine sport participation with education and employment
  • Interoperability with partner institutions' systems across countries

How this applies to your organisation

If you certify coaches, referees or sport staff, this is the kind of work we can take on: a competence framework, traceable assessment and credentials a federation or an employer can verify.
